I'm not sure what I was looking for in a book, but there isn't really an easy answer to gaining souls for Christ. (Of course.)Patrick Madrid spends probably half the book discussing what you, the Catholic reader, can do to make yourself a better example and better representative of the Church. Then he talks about techniques for engaging people in dialogue, a little bit how to answer their questions or redirect criticism of the Church. He focuses a lot on prayer and "planting the seeds", or "fertilizing the soil" to allow the Holy Spirit to do the work.He also discusses well many of the pitfalls, such as pride and false assurance, that often befall conversion efforts.One of the most valuable parts of the book, to me, seems to be the helpful footnotes and long suggested reading list full of books on various topics of use to someone who wants to share the Faith. The reading list is divided into three sections, beginner, intermediate, and advanced, in increasing order of theological complexity.View this book as more of a game plan or introduction to your efforts, rather than as a comprehensive how-to manual.

Not a lot of meat here. It could have been said in a short article.

Lots of examples on what you can do to bring loved ones back to the Catholic Faith! You will get a great understanding why those closest to you might be the hardest to bring back to the Catholic FAith. Now I don't push our sons away but do the many things suggested in the book. I feel better about what I'm doing and NOT doing. I would recommend this book. It will also help you to bring people of other faiths into the Church. Actually, this book is for every Catholic! I would recommend it!

I expected some clearer strategies, but it's mainly about knowing the faith and not sabotaging your own efforts.

I have leant this book to 2 other ladies already. The first girl absolutely loved it and ordered it and I have yet to get it back from the second. She said it helped her with some of the issues she was having in her family. I thought the book was a real eye opener self review of our purposes and goals behind witnessing to others. It is a reminder of the importance of humility, trust, patience, prayer and above all love in every relationship.

So, I just finished “Harvest of Joy” by Robert Mondavi and I give it a 10 out of 10. Basically, because I love Napa, I love Napa Cabs and really love a good, hard earned success story. Robert was so lucky to find his passion early in life and he pursued it for 70 years – amazing. He strove tirelessly to make world class wine and he played a huge part in changing the way America looked at wine and Napa Ca wine in particular. He started Robert Mondavi Winery in 1966 and sold it Constellation in 2004 for $1 Billion. Some great quotes, “Wine is art”, “Wine is a food group with health benefits – in moderation”, “The best part of the day is hearing the cork pop and knowing your sitting at the table with friends and family for a meal”He lists 15 qualities that have served him will through his career, he thinks of them as his philosophy for success:- First and foremost, you must have confidence and faith in yourself.- Second, whatever you choose to do, make a commitment to excel, and then pour yourself into it with your heart and soul and complete dedication- Third, interest is not enough—you must be passionate about what you do if you want to succeed and have a happy life. Find a job you love and you’ll never have to work a day in your life.- Fourth, establish a goal just beyond what you think you can do. When you achieve that, establish another and another.- Fifth, be completely honest and open.- Sixth, generosity pays. – Learn to give.- Seventh, only make promises and commitments you know you can keep- Eighth, you must understand that you cannot change people.- Ninth, to live and work in harmony with others, don’t be judgmental. I've read the book a few times. Every time I visit Napa Valley and want to get into the history and increase my appreciation of the place, I read this again. Grant it, the "history" is 100% slanted through the lens of Robert Mondavi, but I don't mind. If you can see just a little beyond his very mild chest pounding, you can see his great vision for the wine industry in America, and the good he tried to do. Mondavi did a great deal towards instilling our enjoyment of wine and food in the U.S.

A bit rosy, but hey, it's an autobiography. Interesting to hear the history from his perspective.

An interesting, informative and honest book about the trials, passion and tenacity it takes to start from scratch in the pursuit of professional and personal excellence. A must read if you are interested in wine or have the crazy thought you will retire and start a winery.

good book, especially if you like mondavi wine. seems a little canned, though. like if you got it from a different perspective the story might be a little different.

An interesting book that tells the story of Napa Valley's rise in the wine industry and Robert Mondavi's leading role in it. It relly reads as though he is talking to you.

My wife read the book ans loved it, but felt that it is kind of a repeat of details of Mondavi's life contained in other books.

Lots of people would find The Imagineering Field Guide to Disney's Animal Kingdom a bit much: could anycare about the marks in the pavement? But to Disney True Believers, this is an important book, another display of Disney's ability to use everything from dirt to sky to help tell a story. Walt was a superb story teller, one of the first in our lifetimes to use place to tell us about our world and other worlds. (D.H. Lawrence had written of The Spirit of Place decades earlier, but I doubt if Walt read much Lawrence, and Lawrence wouldn't have thought of manipulating space to tell a story.) Imagineers have the best job in the world, using literally everything to change our perceptions, and this Field Guide shows how they do it. This volume is better than the corresponding volume on the Magic Kingdom, perhaps because the stories are deeper and more relevant to our future.

An excellent inside look at the planning & execution of Animal Kingdom. Be aware that this is a small book, but packed!

This book is great for the Disney fan in your life. I bought all 3 in the series for my husbands birthday & he can't put them down. If you have never been to the parks they will be a little hard to follow, but if you are Disney fan's like us you will definitely love them!

For all you Disney-aholics, this was a great behind the scenes book that tells much about Animal Kingdom that is not public knowledge. It takes each 'Land' in AK & gives background, foreground & sideways looks at what is and what might have been. Very enjoyable book, as were the ones about MK & Epcot. Now I'm waiting for one about MGM.Diane

I love all of these guides for the Disney Parks by the Imagineers. They give you a sense of the parks and why things were done the way they are. If you are Disney fanatic, you will enjoy this book and the other two that have been written for The Magic Kingdom and Epcot.
