Very disappointed. I recently ordered 2 copies for gifts via Amazon, but found them to be of a very low-quality reprint - nothing like the copy that I had purchased in a bookstore several years ago. That original copy is a beautiful book, containing great information and absolutely gorgeous photography, brilliantly reproduced on high-quality, heavy-weight glossy pages. In these new Amazon copies, however, although the cover, content, and pictures remain the same, the pages have all been reproduced on low-quality, lightweight ordinary paper with all the images and text appearing in much-reduced resolution, color, and clarity. It almost appears as if the pages of the original were run through someone's low-res home scanner and the scan pages assembled into a poor likeness of the original book. Still good information, but a terrible shame given the high-quality and truly beautiful content of the original printing. Very disappointed, will not be giving as the intended gift and instead plan to return for refund.
Beware.....not available in print as Amazon advertised! So this was going to be a gift, but Amazon leaves the shopper high and dry at check out with message "not available". To Amazon......why list an item for sale, if you cannot deliver????? Very disappointing!
This is a great book to have and use for inspiration. It is hard to plan day trips in Hill Country simply because there is so much to see and so many beautiful places to visit. So it is helpful to have a collection of visuals to help decide where to go next. Beautiful photographs!

I orderded this book for my husband who is a keen motorcyclest, we were dissapointed at first as package arrived soaking wet as though dropped in a bucket of water. But as usual the folks at Amazon came through and replaced our package in the nick of time for fathers day. the book is very well written and has some wonderfull scenic photographs from all around Texas. You do not need to have a motorcycle to buy this book. it is a beautiful coffee table book and you can use it just as well for traveling by car or campervan.
We bought this book before we toured the "Hill Country". I already new my route and just used it to get a little more flavor for the areas that we traveled. Not a book for backroad travels because it is all on main roads. It was what we expected but does contain much more of the Hill Country than we realized. You will need to zero in on more info for areas as this book is just a general guide of the area. The pictures do portray the area that it represents and is like being there in person. Would purchase again if needed.
