This was a great book for my second grader. He had been wanting a bearded dragon book. After reading reviews on lots of different books, I was concerned that we would end up having to buy multiple books to find the right one for him. This book is setup in chapters, with plenty of reading and photos that a second grader likes. The reading level is definitely higher, but I can read it with him and help out. He can read a lot in the book with help on the bigger words and harder sentences. It also has lots of text boxes with extra information.Although an elementary level child can read this, I also enjoyed reading and getting the information for our bearded dragon. It provides plenty of information about juvenile and adult bearded dragons.This is not written as an all inclusive instructional book/manual on everything you need to care for a bearded dragon, but it does give a lot of the information you would need to know. Whether you are considering one, or already have one, this book is a good read and you will learn something from it.

Bought this for my 8 year old son who is considering getting a bearded dragon. He has read it cover to cover several times and learned so much about the bearded dragon. He is now using this book for a book report (3rd grade). It's very informative for him - as well as for me (his mom) in learning how we would need to care for one.

It has good info but not enough I was able to get more helpful info off a website online. It only gives you a list of veggies and plants for him eat well online I was able to find plants vegetables bags and fruits a full list and how to prepare them while in the book it doesn't quite give you that much information

Perfect book. I especially like the way food is separated into categories. Can be fed daily, frequently, occasionally, and rarely. Also into leafy plants, herbs, fruit, bugs and flowers. It covers store bought as well as yard and garden plants. Makes owning a dragon more economical.

This book contains basic care for a bearded dragon such as feeding and housing. However it is completely lacking anything on behavior, and for an animal so rich in personality and human interaction that is some vital information.All in all it Is a nice quick reference for safe foods and common medical issues so you dont have to search the Web, but its not as comprehensive as I would like.

Bought for my neighbor boy when he got his first beardie. Great information for beginners to learn about dragons and how to take care of them.

I liked it, but had no response from the people who own the bearded dragon. Her name is Paprika, and though I dislike reptiles, she is actually very sweet, and more attentive than one would think.

My family plans to acquire a beardie sometime this year, and this book is an invaluable resource for first-time beardie owners. The information is clear, concise, and beautifully illustrated.

This was the only supplement my professor suggested so of course I bought it. It did help me understand some concepts I missed in class but it was very heavy on theory. I think it may be better for an advance torts class and not the normal 1L course. It's not much use for daily or weekly studying but it did help at the end of the semester to kind of pull all my knowledge together.I pretty much walked out of the final and immediately donated it to the school's library for incoming 1L's but I regret it a bit. I think that it could have been more useful to me now that I'm a little more advanced.

My Professor recommended this supplement and like any good 1L, I ran out and bought it. All in all it was helpful, but I don't think I needed it in addition to my casebook and class notes. Still, if you're struggling to understand a concept in Torts, I'd pick it up.

This book is good as a basic introduction to Torts. It's condensed, which makes it easy to read and understand. However, it lacks any discussion of certain areas, such as trespass (including status of invitees, licencees, and description thereof), as well as information regarding "special" duty owed by inkeepers, etc. If you want to study for the bar, or for even a first-year Torts exam, find another book. It would be ideal, however, as a supplement for your first-year Torts class.

This is going to save my GPA. Bless this damn book. If you don't want to let a professor slowly lead you around by the nose, get this and always be on top of what's happening.

It's in good condition!

If you are looking for a book to go along with classroom discussion, this is not it. However, for first semester, this book covers the materials fairly well. By second semester coverage is spotty. Well written, but the real gem of this book is its coverage policy and the "why" of tort laws and court decisions. although some coverage is thin, this book covers the material in a way others lack. I actually read the first 100 pages prior to law school, but it became too difficult to understand for the amount of explanation given. If you have a policy based class this book is well suited as a supplement. If not, then use this more for policy and the first couple of months. Better supplements exist as you can read below.I used various supplements for this class. Before buying all of them, I would go to your law library and look them over, use them for your class and see if they are presented in a way that works for you. My biggest mistake was thinking by using supplements I would learn less or get screwed up. Professors tell you whether they like supplements or not, but if you use them to prepare for class, still at least go through the cases and take NOTES from what they say, you will do far better.I will explain the supplements I used and how I studied for class and the final. This was by far the best professor I have ever had, using hypos and working through them in class frequently. She taught like many of the supplements, which is why I relied on them less here then in other classes.First and foremost, Emanuel Law Outlines: Torts is great. It is amazing if keyed Emanuel Law Outlines: Torts keyed to Prosser, 11e to your casebook like mine Cases and Materials on Torts (University Casebook Series). This means the supplement follows along with your casebook and cases. In the first semester I read Understanding Torts to get a more in depth and overall explanation of the material covered. At times if my class covered less I would switch to Acing Tort Law (Acing Law School) for a conceptual overview. Then I used Emanuel Law Outlines: Torts for an overview of the assigned material. Then I did the assigned reading, which was much easier with Emanuel Law Outlines: Torts keyed to Prosser, 11e because it is keyed to the casebook (switched to this halfway through 1st semester). Next I took brief notes to work out an outline for the steps used to analyze fact patterns. Here, Acing Torts is particularly helpful because it has a great checklist (see my review because it is arranged oddly in the book). Last I scanned the relevant chapter in Abraham to get policy for my notes. The key with this book was understanding why Courts created a law or why they decide certain ways in a case. If in a policy based class this book is essential. After class I quickly ran through my notes and organized them a bit into a rough outline (10-15 mins). Then on the weekend I would work on hypos she gave and use The Law of Torts: Examples & Explanations, Third Edition to work through more confusing topics and practice writing hypos.By 2nd semester I used the Understanding book less and less because I picked up on the material quicker. I relied heavily on Acing Torts and Emanuel (using Abraham for bits of great policy arguments).These books collectively were not necessary, but they helped. If short on cash, the books from most helpful to least are your required casebook, Emanuel (especially if keyed), Acing Torts, Understanding Torts (1st semester and half of 2nd), E&E, and this book. However, some prefer E&E for explanation over Understanding. Last, is Crunchtime (this includes only portions of the full outline). Also, I have used Siegel's Torts: Essay and Multiple-Choice Questions and Answers from the library for practice in other classes, which may be preferable for many people.See my other reviews regarding the above books mentioned. However, only the first couple paragraphs will be different.Good Luck, I will try and answer any comments!

Got this today and made the Beef & Potato Stew. Other than a little too salty (for my taste) it was beautiful and delicious! Some of the juices did overflow (but not too much). When the Instant Pot mini went on sale I snapped one up because I used to cook for a family of seven, but now am cooking just for me most of the time. I put my 8 quart in storage and my 6 quart on a shelf for occasional use and was excited for this cute little IP for myself. Doing a google search for recipes, I saw that bloggers were not all on the same page: some said go ahead and cut your 6 quart recipes in half but just as many said no that won't work as cooking times would be different. I saw this cookbook made just for mini recipes and decided to check it out. It is a nice little book with some pictures which are strangely all put together in the middle of the book. Some of the recipes look useful to me and others I will never try, which is pretty typical for any cookbook I believe. My issue is the recipes themselves. Nearly all of them are for 4 servings. I was hoping for 2 servings, more realistic for one person. Also, these recipes are definitely not for people watching their weight. The desserts I understand, but most of the recipes call for butter, olive oil, cream, cream cheese, whole milk, coconut milk, sour cream, you get the idea. So if I want to try a lot of the recipes I will need to substitute ingredients for a more reasonable calorie count. The point of buying the book was so I wouldn't have to change the recipes. I will try a few recipes, mostly soups of which there is a good selection. I will for the most part go back to my collection of 6 quart recipes. I have plenty of them available.

I was really excited to see a dedicated cookbook for the mini that would provide me with recipes for two. I love my IPs and have the 6 qt and 8 qt also, which I use all the time for various purposes. The minimized recipes would be so convenient for meals for husband and I without all the leftovers! However, I noted at once that most of the recipes either were designated as 3-4 servings or were WAY too much to divide into two servings. The most important issue, once I made some of the recipes, was that they filled the pot insert almost to the top. All InstaPot instructions warn users not to overfill the pot to avoid overflow issues and allow space for steam to build to cook the meal. In a couple of cases, I dumped the full mini insert contents into my 6 qt IP to cook rather than risk an overfill issue. Other than that, the book is authorized by InstaPot (many self-published 'InstantPot' collections are not, and poorly edited...wasted money for recipes gleaned from online or other sources) and has some very nice recipes. Anyone expecting cookbooks specifically geared to the 3qt. Mini should realize that just because a cookbook is advertised as 'cooking for two', that does NOT mean it is designed for the limited capacity of the Mini.

This book is OUTSTANDING. I just purchased am Instant Pot Mini (3 quart) and had a difficult time finding recipes for this sized pot. This book not only has the recipes I wanted, but the directions are very easy for a "newbie" to follow. My interest in using this is for Steaming vegetables, Cooking Beans and making soups. This book has everything I need to do that and is written for the size Instant Pot that I have. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND! I bought the Kindle version and when I opened it...I was so happy with the recipes and especially how well written and easy to follow the directions are! Well Done!

the usual entertaining story

I love books that draw you in and allow you to escape into the world of the main character. Mia King does that and her novels take just days (or hours in my case) to read. Marissa Price is so interesting and what happens to her life is amusing, and it's interesting how one can like her more and more as this story line progresses. I love a good story with interesting characters that's an entertaining read. My book club also loved this book for the interesting turns and twists in the story and the awesome recipes in the book. We all made a dish from the recipes and brought it to our book club meeting - it was paradise!! A fantastic book club read!

This was a fun read. There were some parts that seemed to drag longer than other subjects, but otherwise I really liked how the book ended. I'm looking forward to reading her other books!

Yes, a Sweet Life living in Hawaii! A wonderful story on how Hawaii can challenge everyone and if you stay true to yourself it welcomes you fully! Beautiful story...all of Mia's stories are great and I look forward to reading her next one...when is it coming out?

This is a great book. I was happy with the service. I would reomment this book to everyone. Once you start it you won't wnat to put it down.

I would recommend this book to anyone that has ever thought, desired, wondered, or moved to aremote and/or tropical island.An easy read with good character development.Also, the lead female character shows her strength and tenacity through the entire story.

I'm not sure that there is technically a genre called "mom lit," but I think I'd have to classify SWEET LIFE by Mia King as just that. SWEET LIFE is the story of Marissa, a wife and mother, who gives up her career and apartment in Manhattan to move to Hawaii for her husband's job. Oh and by the way, she hopes that by moving to Hawaii, she can save her marriage. This book definitely sounded like one that I'd enjoy with lots of family dynamics and conflict; and I'm happy to say that I did like it -- a lot. I am so glad that there are books out there for those of us who are "mature" (married with children) and that have interesting female characters.I really enjoyed SWEET LIFE. It is a great story with some terrific and memorable characters. It's a relatively light, easy read; however, it also touches on some very serious (and very real) issues that affect many women in today's society. I have a feeling that you will be reminded of yourself, or even some of the women you know, when you read about the female characters in this story. I loved how this book showed the strength and resilience of women, and how women will pull together to help others.I have to admit that I didn't always love Marissa. Maybe it's because I saw in her things that I don't like about myself, but she definitely got on my nerves in the beginning of the book. I found her to be very self-centered and at times almost arrogant; however, I like how the author developed her character. She was definitely flawed, and yet I found myself rooting for her. In so many ways, SWEET LIFE was really a coming-of-age story from Marissa (even though she was a woman in her early 40.) As a reader, I enjoyed seeing Marissa discover things about her relationships and her life in general that made her a better person. I was actually quite touched by this story, and it ended up warming my heart a great deal.As a child, my family moved a lot so I could totally identify to the parts of the story about acclimating to a new environment and a new culture. While I haven't experienced a move quite as drastic as moving to Hawaii, I could understand Marissa's frustrations and feelings of being an outsider. I thought Ms. King did a wonderful job of showing the huge differences between living in Manhattan and living in Hawaii. In fact, I thought her descriptions of Hawaii and its people were perfect.I think what I enjoyed most about SWEET LIFE were the overall messages in this story. After I finished this book, I just had to smile. This book showed the importance of family and friends as well as finding what makes you happy. I don't think I will ever tire of books that make me think about those themes. Of course, I also liked how Marissa discovered things about herself and realized what was truly important in her life.My book club is all 30- and 40-somethings, so I think SWEET LIFE would be a great discussion book for my group. I think many women will relate to at least some aspects of the females in this novel. There is a reading guide available which further delves into the themes of marriage, family, trust, self awareness, and friendships. I also think hosting a meeting for this book would be so much fun. Since the story takes place in Hawaii, you could do an entire island-themed party. And since food is such a huge part of this story (there are even recipes included in the back of the book), you would have no problem coming up with some awesome treats!SWEET LIFE is the first book that I've read by Ms. King, but it won't be my last. I already have TABLE MANNERS and can't wait to read it. Ms. King has a fantastic website that you really need to check out. She has a special recipe box section where you will find lots of delicious recipes and even recipe tips. She even has entertaining/hostess ideas, related food trivia, and guest author recipes. I think her website is a terrific resource for your next party or book club meeting.

"Sweet Life" by Mia King is pure beach reading...even if it's in mid-winter and the coast is miles away. The author, who has a flare for travel vignettes, re-creates such a vivid, off-the-beaten-path-where-the-locals-live slice of Hawaii that you can almost smell the salty ocean mingle with the fresh plumeria in the air...pass me a chunk of guava, please, ummm...now back to the book.An extra star goes to an interesting plot that involves the main character, Marissa and her husband Paul, along with their young daughter, undertaking a major relocation from Manhattan to Hawaii due to Paul's job promotion. Oops, one star down; some of the plot is a bit too incredulous. I mean, what are the odds of meeting an annoying fellow passenger on an airplane, only to end up roommates who transform from total opposites to total friends? Other unrealistic situations bring Marissa together with two other women who end up being Marissa's roommates after her husband skips out on her. Since the plot forces many of the puzzle pieces in the main character's life together, I could not get fully lost in the book.On the plus side, call me Pollyanna, but I love the fact that Paul, Marissa's husband who is on the brink of a breakdown, ends up being a squeaky-clean committed husband. It is a refreshing break from a divorce-thirsty society and the way Mia sets up these circumstances is quite ingenious, but definitely credible.The author's recipes (her hallmark) add another layer of sweetness to the book.
