A wonderful accounting of an amazing midwife. We are truly blessed to have had her serving the women of her community as long as she did, and she continues to influence many new midwives to this day. May you rest with the Angels Dona Jesusita Aragon. You are loved and remembered and as such - will never leave us.
This book is wonderful. I love the way you can hear the voice of Jesusita coming across the pages. It is a true insight into the life of many people from Northern New Mexico at a time when life was full of changes.

From her childhood in rural northern New Mexico to her career as the region's most highly respected midwife, one learns of the trials and tribulations endured duing a pivotal period in the American Southwest's progression from traditional Hispanic life into the modern times. Written from a first-hand observation and involvement, Fran Buss has captured the day-to-day feeling of the life that this most amazing woman lead.
